Shalom Lappin’s research is in computational linguistics with a focus on the application of deep learning and probabilistic models to cognitive issues in natural language processing. Unilt recently he served as the chief scientific advisor in CLASP.
As of June 30, 2026 Shalom Lappin has left the University of Gothenburg. His current affiliations are Professor of Natural Language Processing in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, and Emeritus Professor of Computational Linguistics in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London.
